The Senate was literally created to help the rich keep power over the rest of the country. This system is outdated, corrupt and useless.

Replacing the Senate

The Senate does very little real work, many of the Senators are only present for 10 meetings a year or so. The work could be done by civil servants, or by a body elected by the people, not appointed because of their wealth.
