Arguments
This is how it is done here in Canada, and it works just fine. It's not perfect, and there are a few people who show up with absolutely no documentation and expect to be able to vote, but with proper education on the system most of the problems will be mitigated and outweighed by the benefits of a fully eligible voting populous.
Counterarguments
Registering to vote is already simple in this day and age of Internet. Doing this just increases the possibility of fraud.
