Description
I believe it is time for our servicemembers to come home from Afghanistan. We need to get out as quickly as possible, consistent with the safety of our troops and with a transition to Afghan control. Ultimately, it is the Afghans who must take responsibility for their own future.

This recession has forced families and businesses across America to make hard choices and limit their expenditures. We must now expect our elected officials to make the tough calls that will keep our government on a sustainable path moving forward. We must restrain spending across the board. Eliminate the costly and ineffective military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan; limit defense spending to actions that truly protect the United States.

Martin stridently opposed our war in Iraq. Ending that war was a top priority for him when he came to Congress in January 2009. He is now doing all he can to speed up the end of combat operations in Afghanistan, for he believes that it is time to bring all of our brave men and women home to their families.

The Obama Administration is listening to me and others who have urged a faster departure of US troops from Afghanistan where they have been asked to fulfill a role better left to the Afghans.

We’re spending $120 billion a year there now.  It’s time bring our troops - and our money - home.

Afghanistan is too poor and too remote for our massive American war effort to make any sense. It’s time to end the Afghan war.

America will spend $120 billion this year fighting a war in a country with an economy less than one sixth that size, directly fueling the massive corruption that plagues Afghanistan.

I believe if were fighting a war and not fighting it to win then we need to bring the troops home.We can't tie one arm of our shoulders arms behind there back and have them fight a war.It didn't work in Vietnam and it's not going to work in Afghanistan. Now if we plan on tring to win the war I say we need to stay there as long as it takes.
