G11 - No Foreign Intervention in Syria
| Foreign intervention in Syria will make the situation worse | |

Description
I have a feeling we're going to see a long drawn out war, followed by a stalemate, and at the end of it they'l have to discuss the kind of political settlement we discussed in Geneva.
Counterarguments
Since our founding, America’s greatest export to the world has been and continues to be freedom. Our experiment with democracy has given those who wish to be free a roadmap on how to throw off the chains of a dictator and chart their own course toward liberty. This sentiment has been burning throughout the Arab peninsula and there is no greater example today than Syria. A government’s role is to protect its citizens, not turn its guns on them. Joe recognizes that the time for negotiation with the Bashar Al-Assad regime is over. Al-Assad is a dictator, a murderer, and Iranian puppet. The United States must work with its international allies to isolate the regime, separate its control of the military, and support the Syrian opposition. The bloodshed must end and we must help those in Syria move towards a post Al-Assad government.
