But today, the U.S. Navy has only 284 ships, the lowest number since 1916. Our strategic bombers are on average 34 years old. Our tanker aircraft are 47 years old. Yet Bob Menendez has supported slashing $1 trillion from our defense budget over the next ten years, leaving our men and women without the resources they need to keep us safe in a dangerous world.
As a U.S. Senator, Joe will fight to modernize our military and restore funding to the budget baseline established by Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
