I will continue to work to fund public transportation initiatives that help ease congestion, cut air pollution and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Mike helped bring over $1.6 billion dollars to Illinois to help develop Chicago as a regional High Speed Rail Hub, $1.5 million to build the Chicago Transit Authority’s planned Circle Line, and $8 million for Metra commuter rail extensions. He also helped secure a $100 million TIGER grant for the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) project, a comprehensive vision for the future transportation and development needs of the Chicago region which will support an estimated 1,087 jobs.
