Create a new branch of government that includes we the people and give them a competing currency for participation.

Description
We can literally hire ourselves as our own representative in a new branch of government I call the We The People Branch. We should also mint a new competing currency and reward participation in this branch that should have the most authority of all the branches. If a policy should be a failure it could rectify it faster then any other branch could especially when it is gridlocked between parties.

Today we live in a world of instant communication and an internet democracy is possible even those without a computer could participate through phone or similar system. Our current representative democracy is crippled and not moving fast enough for the issues at hand.

Think Local First

I think it's obvious that the ruling class won't let this happen on a national level any time soon, but we could do it on a local level by running our people for positions of public office, like county boards and city boards, as well as mayors etc.

Free State Project members in New Hampshire are having success getting elected as state reps and others get elected as selectmen etc on the local level. And some are trying to start "Free Towns", which I'm also promoting.

Hey - something like this website maybe? (2 replies)

Very creative idea. Of course, if OUR representatives were actually representing OUR best interests, it would not be necessary. Unfortunately, for the most part, both parties are bought and paid for by monied interests. After all, the founding fathers were the upper crust of our society, which expains why they made some of the decisions they originally made (e.g., only land owners could vote, slavery was acceptable, etc.) It just seems that in 2012, the fact of who is really running the country is clear for everyone to see.

We should Occupy Local Politics to start Free Towns by running our own candidates for town and county offices, like FSP. More detail
