Concerned about our planet, the disparity between the haves and have-nots, and I'm still living in the 1960s in my head.

Idea #US29 - Postal Service should not be for-profit

Services for the public good shouldn't be expected to make a profit.

Argument
Services for the public good--like the police force or fire fighters--should not be expected to be profit-making ventures; and yet, somehow over the past couple of decades, it's become the idea that the postal service and other public services need to be curtailed because they are costing the taxpayers money. They are supposed to cost the taxpayers money and these services should be made more widely available.
